Title: sweet 14lbs!!!

i average about 191 with a ball speed of 17-18 mph.  i've been reading about all this new coverstock that 14lbs can carry as good as 15lbs ball..  so i said what the heck..  i'll give it a try..  but at first my driller/coach kept telling me don't do it..  well i gotta get it out of my system so he drilled me up a 14lbs total nv.  i was having trouble at first..  my timing was off..  way off!!  and this was like last week..  but tonight, my wednesday night league, i slow down my approach just a bit and since its a lighter ball the total nv was revving like no tomorrow.  out of the gate i shot 217 and then 297 choked on my last shot never had 11 in a row and last game 225.  my first 700 series.  737..  so 14lbs my sweet weight,,,,

I too have had success in the past with a 14 lb. ball.  During a sweeper on New Years some 5 years ago, I did a number on my wrist and decided to drop down to a 14.  A 14 will carry just as good as a 15 will.  I shot an 800 with a 14 lb. Brunswick Igniter.

I also use only 14lbs, like a lot of guys in my center/Belgium in general.

As long as you can keep your speed up, they will carry as good as 15.

Top-guy at our center averages somewhere around 230 in about every league and he also only throws 14lbs stuff, so nothing wrong with it

yeah..  my first night using a 14lbs shock the hell out of my teammates because they were all up on my case for bowling a 14lbs...  coz they used 16lbs and called it the men weight..  i showed them the men weight...  LOL

i threw 14lbs last summer, and it fugged up my game.  started over rotating the ball cause it was so light.  took me forever to correct it.  but i did throw up some big numbers with it.  you could hit on it so much it was unreal!  but only chicks dig the BIG hook.
