switch grip and vent holes??
« on: August 15, 2009, 11:10:27 AM »
I am about to order the switch grip kit from Buddie's and was wondering if you can use a vent hole with it? I have never seen that topic come up, but i love using a vent hole and was wondering if anyone has done this with a switch grip setup. Any info is greatly appreciated.

There is a void at the bottom of the insert and the the slug is drilled through.
I do not think it is possible to create a vacuum no matter how tight the drill is on the thumb.
Therefore,no vent hole is needed.

One of the pro shops here in town uses vent holes in his Switch Grips.  If you use the thumb hole tight enough, you can get a vacuum.  I would have to check and see where the vent hole comes out in the bottom of the thumb.

I stand corrected. Didn't think it would be possible with so much space between the slug bottom and the bottom of the hole, but apparently it can happen.

switch grips are just like a slug except for the gap that might be between the inner and outer sleeve. So with a tight enough hole there most definitely will be a vacuum effect.

dont see why a knowledgable driller couldnt just drill a vent hole. but i think it MIGHT have to be drilled thru the ball at an angle. not sure if it would be safe to drill thru the slug.
