New ball suggestions?
« on: February 20, 2011, 06:07:54 AM »
Hi i'm looking to buy a new ball to compliment my hy-road and virtual gravity. Looking for something very snappy and late for medium-heavy oil. The gravity is dying at the moment(even after a resurface) and the hy-road just isn't strong enough on oil.
Was thinking of either an invasion or theory or an infinite theory, does anyone have any other balls to throw into the pot, seem to be a few decent AMF, lane masters and track balls out there but don't know a lot about them.
I'm a bit of a mix between a tweener and a stroker(whatever's working on the night!) 18-20mph(30kph ish), plenty of revs. Two dots in one board right of middle arrow. HELP, there's too much choice! Ty

I was looking at your profile to see if you're left handed.  I say that because two dots and one board right of the center dot is board nine.  Don't know if you line up with your right or left foot.  It all makes a difference.  If you're right handed, you are either bowling on a flood or you are laying the ball down in the dry too soon especially the Virtual Gravity.  If you're left handed, you are probably to far right unless there is limited oil and the Virtual Gravity is burning up.

Let us know a little more and hopefully we can give you a good recommendation.

oh right, i'm right handed. 2nd dot in as in .me... if that makes sense right foot on 2nd dot (left hand side of the lane) bowling out over 3rd arrow on the right of the lane.

I replaced my VG with a Track 715T, I find the reactions similar, the 715 may be a bit earlier. I couldnt be happier with it! Hits like a ntruck and carries everything. It does need oil at OB surface, handles surface changes well! Also quite a bit cheaper than the VG.....

You may want to look into the Victory Road.  ALOT of backend.  Thing you have to understand, though, is that looking for something late and snappy on heavier conditions will make you prone to alot of 2-10, 2-8-10 type splits from the ball wanting to come in from behind the headpin.  When you say that the HyRoad is not strong enough, are you talking in terms of to flat on the backend or not enough overall hook?

Just overall hook really, when I first got it i thought it was gonna be a great compliment to my gravity, but its just a little too weak not enough backend for me really.

What I would probably do, then, is take something like a World Beater and add a touch of polish to it or get into something like a 718A or Ransom.  The HyRoad, while continuous motion, is not really a big backend type ball.  If you can find one and still available, the Reign would be another choice.
