Ball selection advice
« on: February 16, 2011, 04:24:30 AM »
Does anyone have a suggestion for a good low RG/low rev performance ball? I am a stroker with an average ball speed around 17MPH. I have a Storm Furious which works pretty well for me, plus a Columbia Complete Bedlam, and a Brunswick powergroove reactive. I'm just looking for something that will give me a little better reaction...Thanks!!

I like the question about whether or not your PAP is the same on all bowling balls.  I say its not but let me explain.

I was bowling agaainst a pro shop owner operator last year and he said that my ball was drilled wrong for my PAP.  He sais I tracked low and that caused the pin to be too close to my PAP.  So I gave him two of my favorite bowling balls, Virtual Energy and Black Raspberry and he plugged and re-drilled them with the pin over and one under my middle finger.  He said this would give me a stronger ball reaction since the pin was abnow about 4 inches from my PAP.  NOT. The Energy turned into a 10 pin ball and the Raspberry has some potential for very drill/short oil lanes. He plugged the Energy again and re-drilled over the old drilling and the ball is back.  So I bought in my plastic ball so he could see the track on that ball, sure enough, my track was much higher.  We use that as my PAP and it has worked out very well.

Ball recommendation would be the C-System Alpha Max with the $50 rebate.  The Anaconda is great also, ubut on the medium to medium heavy side, the Alpha Max is better imho.

Another stupid question...Is your plastic ball your spare ball? I know that I put much less wrist into my spare ball so it may make the track different, right? I tend to have a slightly differnt release with it than my other ball, I think...
