(this is a little long) I'm a competitive tournament bowler, but on a tight budget. I typically only get one new ball a year. I think I'm falling too behind in keeping my arsenal updated. I really felt handcuffed at Nationals this year with my lack of reaction.
I'm a stroker/tweener, high track, 16 mph. Like playing direct as possible, but will move when needed. The complete arsenal is in my profile, but the main arsenal really is this:
V2 Particle (stacked rev lev.)
Nitro R2 Pearl (5x5)
Tidal Wave (10:30 drill - this actually is my oil ball right now)
Cuda/C (label drill - label lev I think)
Super Power Pearl (stacked lev.)
As you can see I'm a little outdated, and I almost left the Super Power Pearl off because I can only carry with it when I'm playing fairly direct. When swinging more I ring 10s with it.
I need to update my 10:30 drill and my label lev ball for sure.
10:30: Thinking Ultimate Inferno
Label: Thinking Columbia Detour or ? (then really glossing up the Cuda/C)
Then a third ball to put a stacked lev drilling on to basically be a go-to type of ball to replace the Super Power Pearl. I was thinking Vendetta Particle Pearl, Uranium Buzzsaw (after reading Bob Hanson's review since this ball might fit my style), or XXX Factor. Also considering, Apocalypse, Vendetta Solid, Inferno, Thing, V2 Clean. Or possibly putting one of these balls in the label drilling instead of the Detour.
If I go really crazy, a new light to medium light ball would benefit me too. When they get towards toasty I'm pretty much stuck with my Nitro R2 Pearl. I was thinking Sonic Boom drilled 5x5, something to really ignore the heads since the Nitro is lower RG. I'm worried that a Sonic X wouldn't hit enough with my limited hand.
In the grand scheme of things I want to keep the V2 Particle, Nitro R2 Pearl and Cuda/c in the main bag and get 3 or 4 new balls that fit my style and complement those 3.
Thanks for reading... and thanks for any opinions.
