Older ball ( xfactor reloaded) on todays conditions???
« on: January 15, 2011, 04:34:41 PM »
So I'm in the process of buying a older NIB ball  X-factor Reloaded... which has I've had the ball before when it was new and loved it, but sold it when i stopped bowling....  for some reason, i was thinking its a particle pearl???  idk

But for todays THS or even tourny shots, how do you think it will handle the oil???

I'm not looking for a monster hooking ball, probably going to do a 2inch pin to pap drilling so its more of a controlled drilling... since i have a drilling like this on my Tropical heat and love it... and would like to see it on a solid ball with some surface......

I have one that I still use from time to time. Mine is polished but drilled fairly strong. It handles medium-light up to medium.

It is a particle pearl.

I don't think that ball would be a good choice for any legitimate volume of oil no matter how it's drilled. In my experience, the original X-Factor handled more oil than the ReLoaded did. The ReLoaded was much more shot-specific for me.

I wouldn't overthink the age of the ball.  It is a little older, but shell technology hasn't changed all that much over the past 7 years.  It will probably be just a touch cleaner through the fronts as the moder equivelant, as newer covers are a little milder downlane.
