Title: Tape on shoe?
Post by: strikestriketapped on June 09, 2010, 09:29:33 PM
I have the tendency to rush my feet, resulting in me missing right and leaving some type of 2-8 combination. Thinking of putting a piece of tape on my slide shoe that says "Slow feet" to help me keep my feet slow. I've seen it before. Has anyone else ever wrote something on a piece of tape and put it on their shoe?

ive never done it, but my buddy has that on his shoes, one word for each shoe haha. Seems like it would be good reminder since you always look down to make sure you are in the right starting spot.

A bowler I knew once did this when he went from 4 to 5 step. Put a piece of bright yellow tape on his new lead off foot so he wouldnt forget.

My missus (typical blonde) uses the same analogy when buying knickers, she gets branded ones from C&A........

I've done it a bunch of times.. From "slow down" to "focus" to goofy random things to keep me loose. Give it a shot!

An oldie but goodie about the knickers, MHB.

Unfortunately I don't think that these americans will understand the play on words (hell, I don't think that they even call them knickers!).

Jock,

I know, it was for us this side of the pond... and for them to wonder.
I might even have to explain slowly to DizzyF..

Cheers

Some of the best bowlers in our house have tape reminders on their shoes.  Several PBA members do the same.  If it gives you a little edge, go with it!

when I use to wear white linds, I actually wrote on them with black magic marker.. "STAY" on the left toe/foot and "SLOW" on the right toe/foot areas..

A lot people do this.  I took a few river rocks and used our laser cutter to engrave focus and slow on them.  I kept one in my bag for awhile and it helped.  Used the rock just like a squeeze bag.
