Tape or Vise tape for thumb holes?

I'm an old fashion tape in the hole guy, but it seems everyone is using the vise tape on their thumbs today. Who has made the switch from tape in their thumb hole? Is it really that much better?

Mike,

I use the Ebonite version of the Vise tape and I like it better for the simple reason you get a cleaner, smoothe exit from the thumb hole...
