http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-it9xVVT7oI really like that they have these videos. I love watching good bowlers throwing good shots on tough conditions. I like watching their moves, adjustments, gameplan . . this is the way bowling is supposed to be.
So just for fun, I'm gonna put some things down here that I noticed or that stand out to me, and I'm interested to see what everybody else sees and if you agree or disagree with me.
First thing that stands out to me is how good John Szczerbinski is. He's so relaxed and his swing is so easy that it looks like he can almost get TOO relaxed. Jesse Buss is on the Sean Rash end of the spectrum it looks, still very very good, but if he gets amped up a bit, he can wing one.
The main announcer kid just drives me nuts, he sounds like he's 13, it's just pretty painful to listen to him. Fleming has kind of a classic style, he's fun to watch. Steelsmith and Hromek make it pretty obvious why they had success on tour, even in their 50s they still throw it good, just a really even keel, very professional attitudes. I don't know where this Lenz and Jensen came from, but I'm not seeing much from them.
I've heard the name Casey Slaughter before, and I'm not going to say he's terrible, but I don't really see any kind of consistency there. Matt McNiel won't stop talking about AJ Demond, who is pretty good, but it would be nice to hear him talk about everybody else a little more. Drewes looks like a cross between John and Jesse, just a bit nervous here.
As far as the shot goes, it looks very scoreable, but I hear that with this Ice oil that if you don't work together and break the shot down right, it turns into a nightmare in a hurry. Looks like there's reaction pretty far right if you keep it soft, and hold in the middle if you prefer throwing it harder. This looks like a very fair, universal shot, meaning that it looks like no particular group or style is shut out, although it looks like the higher rev guys might have a slight advantage being able to hit up on it and float it out to 5-6 board without early movement. The pins look pretty lively, but of course guys throwing it pure will make it appear that way.
I didn't want to ramble on forever, plus I wanted to leave some room for what everybody else has to say. I'm interested in what everybody else sees.
