Target issue.
« on: December 31, 2010, 07:41:23 AM »
I'm having a problem with using the arrows currently and have gone through this before. If using the arrows my hand turns over too soon causing a release issue with my thumb (it stays in the ball too long) . Have looked farther down lane in the past to keep my hand behind the ball. Currently it is the reflections of the pins. Anyone else have this problem?  And what did you do to get over it?

well since I bowl on synthetics, and have the luxury of having the dark boards @ 35/40feet, thats what I use for my target...   If bowl some place else that doesnt have them, I usually aim for a pin, IE I throw my ball normally but aim @ the 6pin...

I use a technique taught by Susie Minshew that might work. Similar to whad David said about using a pin. But, I draw a line from a pin back through the arrow or dots and use that mental picture to roll the ball along that line. I am using the arrow, board or whatever as the mark, but with that mental picture of that straight line to the pin. The break point is of coarse along that line.
