ARRRGGHGHHH!!! SO DISAPOINTED IN MYSELF!
« on: September 18, 2004, 06:39:50 AM »
Went to the parker bohn scholarship tournament today! I had a really good time, and actually bowled well! Last game, front 7, 8th frame I baby the ball and dont get any hand into it, dead through the pocket leaving a 1-2-4-10. Picked off the 1-2-4, then went off the sheet! ARGGHHHH!!!!! Ended with a 264, new high game but STILL ARGH! I got to meet parker bohn, and get his autrograph though, hes a really nice guy. Ended up + 189 for 6 games. Dont know if I made the cut yet, I have to call later tonight after the 2nd squad is done bowling. Just thought I'd let you in on my little adventure, and my dumb-as§ness on that 8th frame. Later

Good bowling, BK25.

Just curious, did you end up using any of the advise you got or did you just let your natural skills come through?

I just let it flow. Couple times I had to step back and look what I was doing wrong, but then I was back on track.

Good shooting BK- don't worry, we all make silly mistakes sometimes, just learn from it the next time you have a string of strikes and work from there...

I left a washout this summer that cost me an 800, had a 3 bagger in front of it and to finish off the game...

You got lucky, dirtbag --- obviously you hold yourself to much higher expectations than we do!!!!

LOL --- Just kidding, BK --- are you using that ball we hooked up on??????  You may be on the way to  the bowling alley (yeah, I'm old school-- I still call them alleys) as I write this, but good luck today-- I bet a 264 triplicate would win a lot of scholarship bucks!!!!!
Good luck and good bowling!!

Well guys, I got knocked out of my first bracket! I focused too much on his game, and screwed up mine. I mean I bowled decent, had a 210, and like a 208, then the last game rolled a 177, which killed me. I missed a 10 pin, which if I had made, probably would have let me win. Tied for 5th with 3 other guys, got a trophy and $100 scholarship money. I mean, when I thought about it though, 5th out of 140 people that showed up isnt bad AT ALL. Especially for my first bigger tourney. Well, thought I'd let you guys know what was going on! Thanks for the support! (Oh and smash, I did use that ball all day today, averaged around 207 with it!)

BK: Great bowling man. It's very hard to remember when you are bowling head to head, but you learned a great lesson in worrying about what you can do versus what everyone else is doing in terms of scores. Fill your frames and then worry about how you finish after the fact.
