THE One
I tried so many surfaces, drilled it 3 times for me, cause i´m sure this is a great ball but I never had a good look at this ball except a 299 with a solid 8 pin...

Brunswick BVP Punisher.  When it worked, it was a great ball.  Most of the time, though, that ball was damn near uncontrollable.  So, so touchy.

Similar problem I had with my Morich Sahara (same cover): hit or miss - either it worked like a charm (it held for a long time my personal highest average record), or not at all. Sold it, consequently

Another dud was the Smash Zone I had - its cover and the low RG core did not match up with my game, it was a nightmare. I only made it work once, and this was on a light 30' tournament pattern. Sold it even more quickly than the Sahara!

As a side note: until it cracked, I loved my Fuze Igniter for being very angular (it was even drilled to be a skid/flip piece), but quite predictable, despite its hard cover and basic properties which would make it nervous by nature. The Sahara was much more problematic!

pearls in general
as other have said when it's on you can't beat them, but when the shot is not there they were uncontrolable

supernova XP
Evolution
BW pearl
radical inferno

all get honorable mentions

one of the reasons I prefer solids over pearls

Current ball: Columbia 300 Loud Noize. This ball is an over under monster for me, especially on medium to med dry lanes. Add to that the drilling that tmy shop guy put on it. I basically told him to try something new for me and he did! He went with a length drilling, pin 5" from my pap but the pin is high above my ring finger.

The ball is massive off friction, but has nothing when kept in the oil.

As for older stuff, the original X-factor for me was a nightmare. It was 50 feet of skid then a left turn the last 10 feet. This was the ultimate over/under piece for me. I would love to have another one so i could try a different drill pattern on this one.

For me it was the Radical Inferno, the Chalk (OOB) and the Toxic (OOB)
