What are the yearly dues looking like this year?
« on: August 24, 2004, 05:00:58 AM »
Tonight is our league meeting, which I won't be able to attend, but I was wondering what the league dues are looking like so far in your areas.  Are there any big increases for this year?

Our national and local sanction is the same as last year $16.

Bowling fees are the same.

Sawbones - 50 cents a game is a big jump, around here they might go up 50 cents for 3 games. It will be interesting to see how many quit.

The house might have been holding back on a increase for a few years to try and keep the numbers up and finally said to heck with it, everyone is quitting regardless so lets make money on what's left.

The average in my 2 leagues are about $13-$14 for lineage, that's about $4.50 a game, almost matching open play rates....used to be an incentive to bowl league cause it was cheaper then open play but now with specials at $1.50 per game, this cost way more.  Where'd the incentive go??

PS. I thought your pics might have been here 9~....lol

Started one of my leagues last Thursday. It was announced that the ABC fees will remain the same $13. The per line fee increased an insignificant amount (maybe a dime .. but I really don't remember). I was expecting a big jump in the ABC fee .. so that was a surprise. Line fee increase was in the ACCEPTABLE range!

I agree that 50 cents per line seems steep, the most I've seen was 25 cents per game.  Anyway, knowing how 'Bones leagues don't have much in the prize fund, they're probably still paying less than $10 per league even with the $1.50 increase!

Our lineage fees also jumped 50 cents a game, but the house also just had new(well, new to us anyhow) AMF 82-90 pinspotters installed over the summer. Considering all the breakdowns we had last season on the old ones(and I do mean OLD! They were Brunswick A1's, circa ~1957. Not only were they old, they weren't maintained properly either)nobody should be too upset about the lineage increase. We were also quite a bit lower on lineage($1.50/gm) than our main competition($2.25/gm) last season.
Even with all this happening, I'm sure there will be complaining. Some people are never satisfied.

It always makes me laugh when these people bellyache and moan about a 50 cent increase like it is really going to break them.  Most of the time, the biggest complainers about the 50 cent increase are the ones who buy 3 or 4 beers each night and dump $20 in the shootout boards/card games, 3-6-9, etc.  I say, if you can't afford a 50 cent increase once a week then maybe you shouldn't be bowling in the first place!

No increase in lineage for us this year.  Every 3 or 4 years they actually leave lineage alone

the league I decided to join... well, when I went to the meeting dues went from $23 last year -> $27 per week.  Purse has increased as well, so no real complaints.

ABC dues for us are $12 this year, league fees are $11 on both my leagues.  One house went up $.50 for the nite, the other house went up $.05 a game ($.15).

SrKegler ABC dues $12, we're paying $16 for ABC out here.  I actually pay $31, $16 ABC and $15 WIBC.

League fees $11?  My cheapest league is $18/wk.  The other 2 are $20/wk and $26/wk.  I've got to get out of CA

Well, if you weren't a [deleted] lefty, we could find a position around the St Louis area for you.  Lot of openings for teachers but we have too many lefties as it is.

LOL Sr Kegler, admit it you really like having lefties around.  We don't mess with your line/oil/side of the lane.  We provide a constant source of entertainment as we whine.  We also keep you amused when there are more than 2 of us on a lane as we have no clue on adjusting to carry down.

Without lefties around, what would you righties have to complain about? (Notice I did not say whine about, because we know only lefties whine)

House lineage in Winchendon, MA stayed the same- we decided to go up a dollar and add that money to the prize fund. So it'll be $12 a week. The format will change though- since there are only 20 bowlers (we lost two teams) I think we are moving to a singles match play head to head format. It'll be handicap based of course, but the plan is to have 1 head to head point per game, 2 for series. We'll see how it goes...

We pay 18 a week for our league plus a one time 50 franchise fee and then sanction fee. My other league is 10 a week.
