it might be just me but i hate it when everyone was so supprised that a woman made tv, it was only a matter of time. they are just recently allowed in. and it will happen again. its not like bowling is a sport of power, so its not male dominated. as long as you can hit the mark. so ti will happen many times in the future imo

"people do not understand is that by having women make the show is the influx of new sponsors." - triggerman

I can't wait to bowl in the Massengil Open or the Kotex Showdown.  WOO HOO!

In all honesty, me and my friend were cheering for her the whole way.  My mother was an avid bowler and used to lay the smack down on my all the time when I was 8 or so.  No one loses to a "woman"  you lose to a fellow competitor. It's the 21st century. shiza, people.

I disagree, if it isnt male dominated, howcome this is the first time a woman made the show? I am not saying its a bad thing.

no offense to liz, but she looked pretty built almost like a man...

all joking aside, its true as long as you can hit your mark its all good... theres this one old guy that bowls at port huron border city league.. he throws almost no hook, not a whole lotta speed, but he never misses his mark by more than half a board. he averages 242.

I have a hunch that the show last weekend is going to be like the 4 minute mile. Once it happened once, it started happening a lot - but before anyone cracked 4 minutes, everyone thought it couldn't be done.

I know you were just kidding, but the problem is, a frighteningly large number of people think that way.

Might I just remind those people, the LPGA has sponsors such as ADT security, Kraft Nabisco, and State Farm. There's no reason that women in the PBA couldn't bring the same.

I didn't get to see the matches, wife was in a State tourney, guess what ? the lanes we were in had NO TV's ??..so anyway, from what I have read, I think this will do nothing but GOOD !  Let all the ladies that can compete...compete. I think she did something like the "King VS Bobby what was his name, tennis thing in the late 60's early 70's ??..Anything good, that brings attention to bowling, is going to start a train of ladies who will show the "big boys" they can compete.
As in baseball, football...anyone on any given day can be beat..as it is in sports, it is in bowling.

There has been times the winning scores looked like my wife's...shoot when she's on top of her game, she's good.

i'm done, i'll sit back down.

Brent, here's a challenge...go back through ALL of the PTQ events held since the PBA went to the exempt format and find me another qualifier that made it to the show.

Aw hell, I'll save you some work...it's a short list...consisting of one name, and you only have to look to the last event to find her.  Remember- Liz did something that even the guys haven't done yet.

I was amazed to see the excitement Liz Johnson brought to the PBA show last week.  I have not seen the PBA get so much attention as it did last week. ESPN, newspapers, etc. were covering this event.  It was great.  And she did not disappoint with her victory against Wes Mallot and her good gameplay against Tommy Jones.  I think she can bring more sponsors into the PBA.  She is definitely an inspiration to women and she proves that women can compete in the same arena as men.

The one female bowler that I want to see on the PBA is Leanne Barrette.  She was my favorite PWBA bowler.  She was so dominant on the tour.  She had some 25 titles.  I think her style of play can be successful on the PBA.  I would urge her to go to the PBA Tour Trials this summer to earn a spot on next years PBA tour.

I think that the Dexter Tournament of Champions should have a spot for the WIBC Queens champion. Since they have a spot for the ABC Masters champion, I would think it would be fair to have the WIBC represented in the tournament of champions.

I also think that their should be a PBA mixed doubles tournament. I miss seeing doubles tournments as part of the PBA tour, and would think that having a mixed doubles tournament would help the PBA fans get familiar with men and women bowlers.

It sucks to hear that Leanne Barrette has back problems.  Hopefully one day she can try playing in at least one PBA event.
