Shoes..opinions sought
« on: July 23, 2008, 04:19:57 AM »
So, I have a pair of Linds that I bought in the late 80's that are now done.

I'm looking for a new pair on want opinions on which ones you think I should get and why.

Not a cranker, so I don't plant and actually needs some that will accomodate my slide.

Thanks!

I was loyal to Lind's for many years, bought my first pair of (ABS) - Dynarooz/ 900 Globals and there will be no going back to any other
company.  Most comfortable shoes you will ever wear, with plenty of
heal and sole options to get you in sync with any approach conditions.

Another vote for the 3G shoes.  I have a pair of Dynorooz-branded Tour Ultras and they are fantastic.  Two years later they still look new.

From having the Tour Ultras and now having the SST 8's I can say that they are both a very quality shoe.

The Tour Ultras lasted a good 2+ years for me before needing replaced. When I replaced them I got the new dexters and like them better, its just a feel issue but they are a little wider and feel more supportive, while this adds weight to the shoe is the downfall.

The TU's are a great lightweight shoe but i personally just like the feel of the SST 8's, personally I don't think you can go wrong with either option.

i had dexters for years and was never satisfied with the type of slide i was getting. then i had customer service issues with them and with linds. i had two pairs of dynorooz sport elte cabretta's and then a pair of 3G tour ultra's. the 3g shoes are by far the best bowling shoes you can buy. quality construction, lightweight, multiple slide options. 3G has it all.

I vote for the 3G Tour Ultras.  I have had the ABS Tour Ultras, the Dynorooz Tour Ultras and have a pair of 3G Tour Ultras on order.  The shoes have not worn out.  I needed new shoes due to the PBA registration rules.

I have also used Linds and Dexters in the past.  For me, the Tour Ultras are the best shoe.

I've had two pairs of SST5s and they're about 7 and 9 years old respectively, both are still going well, and were incredibly comfortable. Obviously I can't speak for the more modern Dexter's build quality etc. But mine are fantastic.
