I had a wicked case of tennis elbow, but got it from working in the yard. Hurt like heck and the pain affected my bowling.
My doctor had me strengthen the area using light weights. He said that rest, ice, and anti-inflammatories will help, but the lack of activity will allow your muscles to atrophy and then the condition will likely return if you don't keep the muscles around the tendon in good shape.
