Thank you out to Raiderh20boy
« on: April 12, 2010, 12:02:05 PM »
My ball driller moved out of the area and I talked with Raiderh20boy about making me a thumb slug and drilling some bowling balls for me.  I asked him to drill a 300 into the Rapid Fire for me.  Raiderh20boy lives abour 500 miles from me so I sent him my favorite fitting ball.  When I got the ball he drilled for me, it fit perfectly.  Today I shot that 300 in league.

On my way to Reno I drove a couple of hundred miles out of my way to meet Gene.  He was going to drill a Mutant for me.  Once I met Gene and he gave me the ball, we went out to the lanes to test the ball.  The ball fit perfectly.

While I was in Reno I took a lesson from Mike Jansau.  Between the ball that Gene drilled for me and the 1 1/2 lesson I took from Mike, my game seems to be much more consistant.  Anyone going to Reno I would recommend a little time with Mike.  And if you ever have a chance to work with Gene (Raiderh20boy) the experience will be tremendous.

Nice to hear of someone doing a job well. Congrats to both of you.

We actually have a customer in Atlanta, and lots from Wyoming, that we've shipped many balls to over the years, so if you find someone who does what you like then stick with them.

Ray, I usually like to stop off in Dublin/Fremont on the way that far North, but I had to get to Antioch and then across Donners Pass before the snow closed it down.  It was pretty bad even late in the afternoon and started snowing again when I got close to Donners Lake. Coming home was a treat because there wsa a snow storm the night before I was leaving thaat left snow on 395 for about 200 miles.  What a long trip home.

Talked with my brother who also took a lesson from Mike Jansau and he said the lesson has helped him to build a solid foundation to start.  My brother just got back into bowling last year.  Hasn't bowled since the urethane days first started.

Between the 300 ($100 from the house) won 2 out of 3 pot games last Wendesday, 3 out of 5 pot games Friday and 4 out of 5 pot games Sunday, the lesson and the trip to Antioch is really paying off.
