The Flu
« on: December 17, 2003, 06:40:47 PM »
On my tuesday league the other day a member of the opposite team shows up late and says he didnt feel well. He complained about having a fever and was aching.
well this same person got offended when a few of us wouldnt hi five him when he threw strikes and even made a comment.

Now im sorry but why do some people insist on goin out (bowling, Work ect..) when you
A. dont feel good
B. gonna get everyone else sick
c. Its been all over the news.

Just my 2 cents.

I'm not too fond of high-fiving, and try to get away with not doing so by verbally complimenting people on a good shot.  I do high-five my teammates most of the time, because I don't want to offend them.

i got 3 jay, 4 year old twins and an 8 year old. its hard enough gettin them to wash there hands all the time.
I also work with a woman who every year comes to work sick as a damm dog. sneezin all over the place. coughin. it drives me nuts. I guess theres no way you can totally avoid gettin sick unless you lock yourself in the house but man thats what sick days are for.

I've got 4 little ones at home, including a 3 month old.  The last thing I need is someone who is sick trying to high-five every time he puts a shot in the hole or converts a spare.  My wife yesterday started coughing and is running a low grade fever.  We are just praying that it is a cold that will pass in a day or two.

I just saw one of our school librarians like 3 minutes ago and she has been out for at least 2 days this week.  She still cannot talk and from what I can tell is probably still contagious.  Just seeing her made me want to wash my hands.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

A little off topic, but not totally... Why is it a person can say something and be called to HR and fired for harassment, but it is OK to go to work sick and contaminate everyone around you?  Seems to me being sick is worse than being told you have a nice a--.

Oh yeah, I wouldn't high five either.  Just give the verbal "good shot".
