Bag Question
« on: March 23, 2009, 06:01:39 PM »
Which multiple bag do you prefer, the inline or stacker? I'm looking to get a 4-ball bag and am not sure if i should go with the stacker or inline. What do you guys think? Thanks!

In my experience, the stackers are more durable and hold more. But the inlines are much easier to load in a car, unless you're going to disassemble the stacker every time you get in or out. And that's fine until the first time you get to the center and it's raining a flood outside.

I have an Ebonite inline three-ball roller right now with the fourth ball in a zippered pouch on the outside. One of the wheels has come apart, but I managed to fix it. It had a plastic wheel covered in a rubber surround but if you leave the bag sitting loaded in one place for too long, the weight of the balls will deform the rubber (i.e., flat-spot it like a tire) and then it won't roll smoothly. I took the rubber off and the problem was solved.

I'll probably stick with the inlines in the future. My 4-ball stacker is just awkward to put into any car without a huge trunk.

Personally, I prefer inline bags - because of the handling. Easier to load into a car (mine is pretty small so a stacker would not be asolution anyway), and also easier to navigate through league crowds.
Additionally, I put extra balls in a single or 2 ball tote which I can clip/balance at the retractable handle bars.
Besides: big and broad wheels make life easier, and I never had a wheel deform due to ball weight, even on a soft-shelled wheel? But if you have t6hose soft roller skates type wheels, I can see that this might happen?

I like them both. The inline when I am going out of town or another center to bowl in driving distance. The stacker any other time because I can get it into my locker at the center.

The advantage of the stackers is in loading/unloading them.  You can take the top bag off, put the bottom bag in the trunk, then put the top bag in either back on top of the bottom bag or as a two ball tote.  Makes a lot less strain on the back, 30 lbs versus 60 lbs.  --  JohnP
