If you where able to change anything about bowling what would u change?

The one thing of serveral I will list later :-)  will be the constant price increase each year..  Prices are increasing but I am seeing less improvement in my center and the sport...

Weight of the pins.  I'd make them slightly heavier by a few ounces so they'd be harder to knock over.  That would change the ability to score from light pocket swishers to a more solid perfect entry angle to knock all 10 down.

My one thing that I would change.....

I'd make it that all oil patterns are no more than a 3 to 1 ratio.....

Im glad to know im not the only person that despises synthetic approaches. I think they are part of the reason my knee hurts.

But if I could change one thing it would be a more universal Oil Pattern system.

The one thing I would change is...... get back the classic type leagues so that local or national companies put sponsorship money into leagues again.

Bowling is like life. Sometimes you are the ball. Other times you are the pins.

Technically, I'd like to see less friction, so that the player's release and ability to adjust would become more important. I agree on juggernaut's argument, that the ball coverstocks should become more limited - either through harder materials or/and limits to the coverstocks' porosity/coefficient of friction. I feel the gap between the balls' potential and "lane reality" becoming bigger and bigger - we are already discussing how to tame down balls or make them useable at all through very weak setups. This is IMHO leading nowhere.

I do not see RG diffferential limits, as already set into action, to be a sustainable regulation measure. More oil would be another wish/option, but it is just the other side of the same thing.

I would get rid of the 3-unit minimum, and make a 3-1 side-to-side oil ratio the maximum differential allowed, meaning if you have say, 30 units in the middle, you have to have a minimum of 10 units on every other board of the lane at the distance measured.

Iwould have the World Bank put a HUGE amount of money into bowling tournaments all over the world so that anyone and everyone worldwide would decide if they want to become rich and famous they would wan to become a bowler :) then after a while once bowling was bigger than soccer worldwide we wouldnt need the funding and advertising money would make up for it :)

I would make everybody bowl the same amount of games to qualify for tournament instead of this prequalify stuff they are using..  Tired of seeing the same old people....

Change the handicap systems and go to divisions. The lowest division can have whatever handicap, middle division gets minimal handicap, and highest division bowls scratch. Remember, you used the 'IF' word...
