The 2014 staff changes have begun
« on: April 12, 2014, 12:19:49 AM »
Staff changes for 2014 have began in a big way.  Ronnie Russell has left DV8 and is now a part of Motiv.  Read it here:  https://twitter.com/MotivBowling/status/452189864667013120

Motiv Bio:  http://www.motivbowling.com/motivnation/our-athletes/pba-tour/ronnie-russell.html

This is pretty interesting, seeing that he has been with Brunswick and then DV8 for most or all of his career from what I remember.  But, I have to say that Motiv has been expanding it's pro staff the last few years and they've really beefed up their talent.

Radical has announced that Mike DeVaney is their first ever pro staffer.  Ever since becoming a sister company to Brunswick, they now have full registration.  DeVaney used their balls during the PBA League.

Lacaze mows over nationals, walks away with 20k in bracket money, with another 10-15 coming in the form of a check and then leaves Motiv.  Lol wow.
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

With Jeff Ussery leaving Hammer as brand manager and going to work for Bowlers Mart, I wonder if that had anything to do with Jeremy leaving? I know Jeff drilled up some Storm balls when he left Hammer. Who knows, maybe some of these guys/ladies want to try another brand to see what they're missing or not missing! Just my $.02, Bruce

Didn't hear anything about Ussery leaving Hammer, hope it's a good move for him.

Yeah, he's a friend of mine, actually founded the pro shop I work in.  He said Hammer was great, but changing allowed him to move back home, and with him having a family now, he said he needed the change.

If these new motiv guys perform, the be an even bigger year for them! Russell,  choogs, newell..did they sign anyone else?

Just for clarity Motiv didn't sign Choogs, but with the staff additions and already having EJ and Peters they look awfully strong talent wise to go with some really good bowling equipment.

That's cool, Gizmo, met him at a couple of seminars in Akron a few years back and he's a real likable guy that knows his stuff. Best of luck to him.

Storm has added several new staffers recently.  Brad Angelo, Tom Daugherty, Marshall Kent, and Chris Loschetter all now appear on their national staff page online.

Columbia 300 added international staffer Choi Won Young from Korea to their PBA staff.  Yet for some reason, Ebonite and Hammer actually took their PBA staff off their sites and now show no staff or only international/regional staffers now.

EJ Tackett is sticking with MOTIV.  When they signed Ronnie Russell in April, EJ also signed with them...for 5 years.

EJ also just won his 2nd regional title in Wooster, Ohio earlier today.
