As the title say: what's the best dry lane ball. The lanes for the most part make a spare ball hook outrageously, so in knowing this whats the best ball out there to handle it?

man i agree with bob on that one. unlike him i am not a good bowler (if i remember bob you are) but i have tried morich sahara and roto grip ultrasonic and neither have been useful to me. granted i will never be confused with a cranker. i did have a used x factor drilled weak that i wish i had not gotten rid of as i think that would have the right ball for me. oh well live and learn

i was thinking about either the vibe, xxxl, and the desert heat.
im not sure if the tropical storm's would fit the bill can anyone say yes or no?

Redbird, I have to agree with a couple other replies here that the xxxl is great for real dry lanes. It has a full diamond weight block & hits really great for a plastic ball. It can double for your spare ball as well. Check out the ball here:

I'm no expert, but i say the key lies in low differentials NOT highly polished covers

I have heard the the tornado is a good dry lane ball,it is an entry level ball that has a weak cover and a weak core. Here is a link:

The desert heat is a great dry lane ball that hits hard unlike most dry lane balls.

Bob Hanson can move into the lane and use different releases to get to the pocket. I'm with him most so called dry lane balls are for players that must stay in their comfort zone and play a specific trajectory....basically up the track.
The only place, I find dry lane balls to be a help is on very short patterns. I then use a Visionary Green/Blue Centaur that has one of the smallest differentials out there with small flare.

you can also look at the Columbia Trooper. Even though it's urethane, it has a real core and can be fairly strong, especially if you have any hand whatsoever.

Oh splendid! This calls for a sexy party!

I have found that my Intense Inferno has been a very good go-to ball for dry lanes.
It helps that it has a tight pin (1-1.5") put WAY over the bridge. Retains energy well and carries back row pretty well.
