I got better information, and while the time period they weren't supposed to strip the lanes was far less than 3 weeks, it was still enough to make things dicey for the first couple days.  However, upon a complaint from one of my friends, the proprieter found out that the backends weren't being cleaned properly, hence early hook and no backend.  Watching a tournament today, the reaction looks a little bland.  The normal smoothness of synthetics.  I saw transition.  The only thing I see special about it still is the color.  And as a league bowler at this house when it was wood, there is a dramatic difference in carry, very noticeable.  8 pins are now very common leaves on great shots.  Flat 10's show up because of the smoother backends, although some of that can be attributed to a bad shot.  What is the most blatant is the number of out of ranges has increased unthinkably.  I've seen far more just from watching people on these new lanes than I'd ever seen before.  While they weren't common before, they were certainly present, and now it seems it's at least doubled.  With the shot out on them, it seems that if you keep it between 13 and 5, you'll hit the pocket if you throw a decent shot.  There is no wall at this house anymore, if it wanders outside 4 board, you're in big trouble.  Either something nasty or a full rack.  So while there's nothing special that I can see yet, I like the arcing reaction.  And with a longer and slightly heavier pattern than the synthetic house I usually have trouble at, I have a feeling these new lanes will fit my game very well.

Yeah, it's pretty disgusting.  I'm basing the area you have from about 4th arrow or just inside, cause it's where I see most people playing.  If you move further right or left, that's where it starts getting tougher, but by no means very hard.  Lol, yeah, what michelle said.  A trough, not quite a funnel, but no wall.  And I just meant that you'll hit the pocket between 13 and 5, mixer to trip 4.  Hit about 7 or 8, and you're probably looking at a 10 pin, depending on your shot of course.  9-12 is golden though.  If any part of the ball is over 10 board, you're in good shape.  You can play the ditch if you're either accurate or a fluffer using a proactive ball, although you need to keep your speed up because the somewhat early movement will send the ball left around the arrows.
