THE DREAM CAMP
« on: July 11, 2009, 05:32:22 PM »
I haven't seen anyone bring up the Dream Camp on this site before so I figured I will seeing how I just got back. This is deffinatly the greatest teaching and knowledge experience I have ever had for my game. Tommy Jones, Jason Couch , Doug Kent, Dino Castillo,Chris Barnes and the unknown addition of Bill O'neil is incredible. The help with your game, how to play the patterns, layout your equipment and the surfaces to use is unrivaled especially for the five PBA patterns we focused on. Not to mention the one on one time with Mark Baker and his video analysis of your game is incredible. The stuff he sees solutions he comes up with to help you, makes big improvements to anyone's game. The price seems a little hefty but for what you get it is well worth it 3 new balls, sst 6s or etonics, 2 Bowling shirts, a vise slim tote, DVD analysis of yourself by them, lineage paid for and the opportunity to win an extra ball or two plus all the knowledge and experience they bring to the table makes you the real winner in that deal. So I just wanted to say thanks Mark Baker and the rest of the guys and good luck in the upcoming season.

Where is the dream camp held and what kind of price tag are we talking about? Also, if you liked Mark's work at the dream camp, check out camp bakes info! Www.campbakes.com, I believe!

It is held at Woodland Bowl in Indianapolis. And the price for the three days all the equipment breakfast and lunch plus the drilling on all three balls    ( forgot those last few points before) was $1500. And I talked to Mark about setting up a camp at my center next summer here in Toronto Canada. But if that doesn't happen then I will be going to the dream camp and camp bakes next year.

Hello Grinder and all,

We have Mark Baker and Jason Couch coming to our camp this year in Groton Connecticut if you know anyone that is interested it is short notice though. It is the 26th and 27th of July and the price is 375.00 no balls included but we will have balls there as a demo day is included,as well as Bowlers map and Digitrax we are presently running a special 4 full paid entries and the 5th person is free. So basically 300.00 per person and that includes breakfast and lunch. Anyone interested please e-mail me at Slklathrop@sbcglobal.net.

Be tough for me to justify 1500... I would rather fly one of these guys down to Memphis to work with me and pay them for a couple days. Would end up the same, but I would have one on one.

I would pay 1500 for one on one for three days to but we did get one on one time with them and all the equipment plus the opinion of all six a lineage for roughly 80 games . Which interestingly enough when it came to work on my game they all gave me a little advice and everyone of them gave it on a different area of my game. So you do the one on one fly them down pay for them to stay for three days pay them for there time and the lineage then go get three new balls drilled and a new pair of sst 6s then let me know whether you where under 2000 let a lone 1500.

Hello Pinchaser grinder is correct 1500 does seem like alot but if you knew what these guys get for a day plus expenses you would think twice about flying them in for a couple of days. They on the other hand are well worth it that is why my partners and I are working on establishing our camp as an every year thing so that we can expose our area to BOWLING EDUCATION and learning how to bowl from experts so that the sport can grow in our area. Again if anyone is interested there are some spots available. and the price is only 375.00 each or 4 paid entries and the fifth person comes for free. For inf e-mail me at slklathrop@sbcglobal.net.

Thank you

Well... having gone to one class with multiple coaches, having my kids to several classes with multiple coaches and having gone to 1 one on one coaching at Kegel with my kids and myself... I am a firm believer in 1 on 1. I buy balls at discount and drill myself... (then take off 600 for the balls, and 100 for the shoes since I have a great pair and a backup pair)... now you are looking at 800. Now I would pay 800 for 3 days since I dont need those options. ANd I have contacted several pro's and coaches and I believe I would work out a much better deal than advertised.

None the less... I am all for coaching... and as much as I think it would be cool to have that list of bowlers work with me.. I doubt if you got more than 1 hour of one on one with each. ANd that works out to 6 hours total or one day by yourself.

So in the end... if you have the 1500 and you are willing to spend it... that is why they have that class... me I have it.. and I dont want to spend it.

Most of us cannot afford to drop 1500 for a camp, and the fact that the equipment is bundled in and their is no option to not get it really stinks. I also am a firm believer in one on one coaching, I would much rather drop money towards it and I credit that for a lot of the strides i've made. I know a few kids that went to the camp and said it was cool to meet he guys but from the aspect of just trying to get better they would rather work with a coach one on one.

Hello Magic Mike,

That is the sole reason we are not packaging the balls we are offering balls but in alternate packages. Also true one on one coaching is awesome but the opportunity to tap into the knowledge of someone like Mark Baker and Jason Couch is dare I say PRICELESS. If you are intent on improving here is a man in Mark Baker who coaches some of the PBA`s best players in Barnes and Jones. Also as Grinder might add he probably got alot of one on one attention at dream camp as will people that attend our camp. Thank you

You bowl two hours on every pattern u bowl on two pairs with 4 to 5 people max per group/coach I had one on one with each of them and slick is right about mark baker he is fabulous to work with one on one he videos you then tells u what he sees and how to work on it then you to work on it till you start to get it. The same with the rest of the pros. 1500 is a lot I just said that is is well worth it for what you get its hard to see it till you do it.
