i recently starting bowling a lot more than i am used to, i now have knee pain on the inside of my slide leg. i know its hard to say what im doing wrong without a video, but could anyone give me advice on how to get rid of the pain

I know for me when I was having knee pain I had to try to keep my trail leg behind me more. I would have it come around to the point that it was almost further in front of me then my slide foot. The other thing to watch for is if you are twisting with your knee as well. Two things that really caused me a lot of problems.

One of the most common causes that people overlook is flat bottom shoes. If you are wearing them change to something with a raised heel.

Possibly. You could be having pain in your knee from stopping too quickly, the added bowling is putting more straing on your body. A raised heel will most of the time stop you faster, which may not be good.

Don't know ya, but check your weight. Now that I am 35lbs overweight, my knee hurts more often, hurts all the time when I was bowling daily.

Good/better shoes never can hurt, shoes are an underrated part of a player's arsenal. Being able to change soles/heels is mandatory for some, myself included.

Could be due to pronation (ankle turning towards the inside).
I had the same problem for years, when I was bowling a lot.
I purchased a pair of these orthotic lifts, and wear them in my bowling shoes.
I bought a 2nd pair for my gym shoes.
They cured the problem.

I read in BTM that your toes should be even or outside your knee when you slide. Meaning that your foot should not point inward(like pigeon toed). This puts alot of unnatural stress on the joint.

I had ( have) the same thing, I was told by my DR, that I have a slight tear in the ACL, not really sure I want to do the surgery, but when I wear a neo-prene knee brace, there is no pain. Damn thing gets real sweaty after a nights use though

Short term fix...take some Ibuprofen before bowling.
