The Gathering 2012 - July 27-29

It's that time to make plans to come to Winston Salem at the end of July for The Gathering. This will be the 10th annual edition, and we hope to make this one larger and more special than the ones before.

It's being held at Creekside Lanes, with Ron Clifton as our (mostly) gracious host. The staff there are second to none -- extremely bowler friendly. It's almost like a family reunion feel, only w/bowling balls and not quite the same drama. I'm hosting a cookout Friday afternoon at my house (3 minutes away from Creekside), and all participants are invited. The website http://www.gatheringofbowlers.com will give more details about what events we have, a general plan for the weekend, and other info. (At least, once Jay updates it.)

We may not be all great bowlers, but we are all great people who love to bowl and have a good time. Ron on Sunday gives lessons free of charge to any and all who participated, which is worth the trip by itself. So come one, come all and join us -- You'll be glad you did.

Mostly = 99%.  Everyone is granted at least 1% of opportunity to not have their pretty face on.  I myself need about 75% of opportunity to not have a pretty face on.

This is your 3 month warning. Plans are being made, schedules are being synchronized, agendas are being checked and improved upon -- all we need is you. Just a hair over one month away.  I've heard back from several people who have said that the economy is causing them to think twice about coming.

That's fine, everyone has to do what's best for their financial situation, but the open invitation still stands - the more the merrier.

Everyone, it would be great to get a head count of who's coming (or very likely to).  It would be nice to let Creekside's staff know how many people are likely to be running around.

Also, Graaille is still (I believe) having a cook out Friday night and I'll have a poker tournament at my house Saturday (along with other activities) as long as there is enough interest.

So, let the group know who's willing to have a fun weekend with their fellow bowlers.

Yes, still having the cookout rain or shine, typical summertime cookout fare -- Hot Dogs and Hamburgers.  I'm planning for 20 mouths to feed, so if there's going to be more - I need to know to plan appropriately.

LOL!  I still read this site, buddy, but we're not coming this year.  A little birdie told me there'll be a nice prize for someone this year. Maybe next year.
