So, I saw my doctor and he gave me good news. I have to continue what I'm doing - juicing, cut carbs, take meds, and continue with the turmeric supplements I bought from AMAZON. I'm a pretty healthy "BIG GUY" per Dr. for now, but.......

The swelling went down significantly on my right hand, no pain at all (thanks turmeric)... but I'm having issue with finger inserts. They are very loose and every shot I throw I'm adding some "hit" with the fingers. The ball feels like it's slipping off my hand. I use sizes 23 and 25 and I have to add shims at the top of the inserts to get a tight fit.

I heard about Vacu inserts or something to that name, is it worth it? I heard it can be expensive to do. If my hand and fingers swell and shrink, would it fit perfect every time? thanks....

I use vacu-grips and am getting into using them.  The technique uses a smaller insert and a larger hole.  The grip is only glued at the bottom, or some people will glue the bottom and the front of the insert toward the grip center.

I am liking the snug fit but have noticed a couple of issues.

1.  I think the larger insert hole was drilled at my original hole center instead of flushed against the front edge.  This causes the grip to feel a tad short, but not sure if this is it, just feels short.

2.  I also tend to try to rip it more this way.  The feel is nice and such to the point I am almost trying to hard because it feels good.  This is more me I think.

3.  Because of #2, I think I am going through inserts faster also.  But as long as I keep bowling well, I don't mind replacing inserts every 30 games or so.

I have a friend that says the vacu-grips caused issues with his wrist because of trying to generate more revs than he should.  He went from the vacu-grips to no grips at all.  Might be bit much.

If the grips feel to plush, I hear Vise (or someone) is experimenting with a harder grip to bridge the gap between no grips and sponges.

Thanks for the great info.....

I too wish for a firmer harder stiffer inserts, but not the bowling ball feel without the grips. I have bags of vise inserts, but maybe I should of tried ultimate inserts, someone told me they feel firmer than the Vise.

Turbo makes a harder insert (classic-pro) or you could man up and go without.

Be daring.  Try 45 &49 if 23 & 25 are too big.

No grips are the way to go! No grips since 98 and no bevel since no bevel since 02!

how do you like your fit? I like mines very snug, and I just wonder how you achieve this fit. Do you use tape?

Yup.
Before I used grips, where it's easy to stick a shim between the back of the insert and the drilled hole, I used tiny rectangles of white tape cut industriously to fit in the back to the finger hole to adjust the size of the hole. While putting in and taking out shims SEEMS tedious, it is a "lead pipe cinch" compare to cutting them to size, and putting in and taking out little tiny pieces of tape with a scissor or tiny screwdriver. I thank God or whoever invented the vinyl finger grip ever since and every time.

+1 no grips are the way to go, white tape if needed just like the thumb hole.
