The New Proposals - Bowlers Who Benefit
« on: May 16, 2005, 11:48:49 PM »
If these new proposals are passed, I wonder which style of bowler will benefit the most? Would it be crankers, who could gain clear distance over most bowlers once ball movement becomes a case of the bowler not the drilling and coverstock, or is it going to be accurate strokers, with the changes putting the emphasis good shotmaking?

Personally, I don't think any one *style* of bowler would benefit more than any other.  Everyone currently using equipment with balance holes would have to go through an adjustment period, and as with changing coverstock technologies, the best bowlers would find a way to adapt.  That, and there are still an awful lot of drillers out there who avoid the use of balance holes like the Bubonic plague.

I think that it would also be interesting to discuss the related question of which style(s) of bowler(s) would be *hurt* the most by the proposals.
