I am beating Usain Bolt to the line...
« on: January 04, 2017, 08:28:27 AM »
I have a habit of running to the line and was wondering if anyone had suggestions or tips on how to stop doing that.

Thank you

That's pretty fast.

One thing you can do, this may or may not help, is count your steps.  Get in a good habit of counting 1-2-3-4-5 with each step and get in the habit of counting it at the pace you want to go.  Use your mind to reel your body in.

What is your first step like?

Technically you should accelerate to the line.

move up on the approach about a foot and see if that helps.  That is always the cure I use for fast feet.

Thank you for the suggestions.  I threw a few games after work and counting 1-5 helped out a lot.

Good to hear.  Remember to emphasize the pace you want with your brain and train your body to follow by making a concerted effort at it.  Over a short amount of time with repetition it becomes second nature.....
