Bradl, you bowl at rocklin? I don't remember...
Planing on trying out CC or strikes next season.... not sure yet.....
Bowled there a few times. it's decent, but also looks a bit run down. The tile there is looking very aged. I bowled out of Mardi Gras until Bowlmor took over, then went to CC. Both places are looking run down, as they'd rather concentrate on amenities than infrastructure. CC looks slightly better, because the building is multi-level, but still looks like it came out of the 1960s (because it did).
Fireside is showing its age as well, though you can tell it was built in the 80s.
Strikes (Rocklin and Elk Grove) are obviously better because they were built after 2000, but they are definitely for the entertainment than league, and isn't Bowlmor.
Other than that, the only other options are Lake Bowl in Folsom, Capital Bowl, Fireside, or Woodland. Tough choices for this area.

The guys and I were just talking about forming a team for next season at CC this morning. CC is kinda dark, not sure during leagues, but we go early Sunday mornings to practice... How is CC THS? what's it like... we bowl on left over stuff on sundays so it's hard to really tell...
Compared to Mardi Gras and Rocklin, I'd say it's drier, but that may be from the volume of oil that is being put down at Mardi Gras. For being Bowlmor, you'd think that they'd skimp on the oil, but seeing that they have a fair number of leagues there (they took in the leagues from Crestview). You can definitely swing from 15 out and have it come back, with room for an area check, then gradually move in.
The pinsetters.. ugh. They will however, not let you bowl league on anything past lane 32. 32 - 48 have the wires on the pins, so they are obviously suited for parties, though they oil them as well. With CC being open 24 hours, they oil at night and before league.
However I will say that If you do join a league there, once per month, they'll comp the league food/snacks that they put out on the tables. pizza, burgers, desserts, etc., so check into that.. plus they'll give you a card for 25 cents/game any time you go in to practice so you aren't stuck with their horrible open bowling rates (prime time for open bowling can get up to $42 for half hour, depending on how many people are in your party). seeing hat they cater to parties with the Lazer Tag, you see where their money is going..
