Plastic vs Urethane Hit
« on: February 20, 2005, 09:16:39 AM »
The choices for a spareball are either polyester or urethane. The balls I have in mind are the Big Blue Spare, the WD, or the Trooper. Since the trooper is pearlized urethane(pearlized or just polished?) will this ball hit stronger than the ordinary plastic ball? Also, since I have not seen or thrown this ball, what can I expect on toasty lanes? Is it almost like a spareball?

Urethane wil hit harder than plastic.

What does this have to do with using either as a spare ball?

If I (me, personally) were to grade hitting power on a scale of 1 to 10, plastic would be 1, urethane would be 2-5, resin would be 4-10.

Particle is resin, for all practical purposes.
Hitting power depends solely on matching release to ball to oil pattern/lane surface.

why do you need power for a spare ball?
