Back on 4/4/11, I fell and broke my humerus, just above the elbow. Being an open fracture ( bone broke through the skin), it required a surgical fix.
I now have plates on the inner and outer sides of the humerus bone. The also had to break the back of the joint, called the olecranon, to allow them to properly place the ball of the humerus back into the socket, then repaired that by inserting a pin to reattach it.
I am on workers comp and in rehab now. Even with some therapy, the elbow doesn't seem to want to flex past the 90 degree position, so I am now having to do most of my daily tasks with my left hand ( I am right handed and broke my right arm).
I cant reach my head to comb my hair, or my mouth to feed myself, unless I use the left hand. Has anyone else ever gone through this and, if so, how long did it take to get your flexibility back and get back to a somewhat "normal" existence where you could work and bowl?
