OK guys, here's a fun topic to discuss.. As most of us known as seen on the pba tour, Storm has been the top dog of the list as the best selling/popular company for the last half dozen years, but as we have seen the last few years, thees are companies that have caught the bowling world by storm ( Motiv, radical Dv8, to name a few)
If you guys had to pick the top 3 companies to build a arsenal with, what 3 would they be and why?
My 3 would be...
1- Storm
2-Motiv
3-Radical
-
1- Storm
2- Roto-Grip (because its Storm)
3- Don't need any other company. Storm Covers EVERYTHING
-
1. Brunswick
2. DV8
3. Storm
4. Radical
-
1. Storm
2. Roto Grip
3. Lane 1
-
Motiv. That's it. While they maybe don't offer as many balls as some other companies, they provide me with the widest range of reactions. That, and the hitting power...no need for anything else. Phenomenal equipment, that lasts and lasts.
-
For me, I still love the Hammer lineup.... From top to bottom, I think we covered all reactions that bowlers are looking for! "Nothing Hits Like A Hammer!
-
storm, motiv, DV8. I think with those three you could build a diverse line up!
-
dv8, motiv, storm

Storm/Roto Grip
Motiv
Columbia
-
I'd go with:
1) Storm/Roto Grip
2) Motiv (will be buying my first pretty soon)
3) Track
Storm/Roto Grip have worked very well for me the past few seasons. I match up well with their cores/covers on both lines. Track does have some good balls out there and I still throw them when needed. Motiv has come a long way and their equipment also seems to cover a wide range of reactions.
-
1) Storm
2) Roto Grip
3) Motiv

Motiv and Storm. I personally think Motiv is a lot like Storm, just better versions.

Poppycock!!!!

DV8
Storm
Columbia

The longest lasting and never loosening hit in my opinion was the Old Legends/Lane Masters equipment.
Although I'm using a few Radical pieces that hit well, just need to see how long they last with that hit.
-
No love for Ebonite?
-
not even a 2nd thought, i had storm/roto for a long time
changed to
Hammer

Ebonite

Ebonite International: Most balls sold on the planet last year
-
No love for Ebonite?
NO! Simply put, the stuff isn't good, contrary to what that other dude may say about them selling the most balls on the planet, id certainly hope so with 4 different brands under their umbrella.
-
Storm, Roto, Hammer, and we are selling quite a few DV8 and some Brunswicks with the Mastermind series.
-
Thanks for the replies guys, after careful consideration, my top companies are as follows....
Storm
Motiv
Dv8
Roto grip
With these 4 companies, there's NEVER A NEED to even SNIFF considering another ball company.

Track
Hammer

Sorry Northface 28, not poppycock. I see bowlers using a lot of different company's equipment, but Gizmo is right Motiv has a variety of stuff that just plain gets the job done. Storm has great equipment but the boys in Michigan are now holding the hammer!
-
It's relative. I've tried a lot of Motiv stuff. It looks good. The GT-1 was amazing. The other 5-6 balls I tried I was not impressed. Especially when you tell me this ball is the biggest skid snap ball to date.
I am not going to say Motiv makes bad equipment by any means, only it didn't matchup with me and what I was looking for. Too many people rush to say it's a bad product because they are ignorant and that's apparent every day I get online.
-
totally agree, the storm/roto equipment just wasnt right for me
it certainly could have been layout and/or surfaces
i have worked on my fundamentals alot in the past few years and the EBI lineup has just clicked for me.
not all of them match up, some are much better than others, but i will stay with them and promote them because of my personal successes.
I would bet any of us can say this about just about any manufacturer
So the Storm guys are winning lately on TV, that doesn't mean diddly to me or you in terms of performance at our home center

Lets be honest, on house, which is what a large majority of us are on anyway, all the balls look damn near the same. Last night started our trio summer league and I saw everything from Zero Gravitys all the way down to Tropical Breezes on the fresh and all the balls were striking, with authority.

Stuff isn't good? "It ain't the car, it's the driver."
USBC Queen Diana Z. became Queen using a Ebonite Cyclone... her opponent was using an IQ Tour Pearl... Diana Z. also won the Collegiate Women's Singles using a Pivot Point going 289-290 in semi-final and final matches...
When people bash others, it is just so absurd. 8)
1) Storm (that smell good/can't go wrong with company)
2) EBI (the whole family)
3) Lane #1 (Diamond Core Technology is pretty dam cool)
All in all, I believe each manufacturer makes legit stuff. Weight ball with core, how hard is it to make? ???

In my bags Lethal Revolver, Defiant Edge, Strike King and 300C solid.
