Take a look at my new website!
« on: November 29, 2004, 01:24:02 AM »
I absolutely promise not to spam this board with advertisements, but I've been working really hard on my newest venture... another online bowling store.

http://Shop.allBowling.com

Just in time for the big spending season... err... I mean, the holiday of giving.   heh

At the risk of imposing, I'd appreciate your opinion on the site/design/etc.  Hopefully I fixed all the quirky bugs, but if you find one let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Tony

Nice site, tony.  I like the method of choosing companies (the scrolling thing on the left) better than going through link after link to get to stuff.

BTW, some nice prices too on some of the stuff (with the free shipping).  Here is a comparison to Buddies (THE site for bowling nowadays)

Classic Zone:

Tony's site- $119
Buddies- $117

But, you know your getting it from someone who enjoys life.

Now tony i'll be expecting my check/free bowling ball pretty soon.

Thanks for the nice words Andy.

Yes, BuddiesProShop.com is one of the 800lb gorillas.  I've done my best to be competitive with them.  But believe me... that really puts a dent in my profit margin.  Haha!

But you guys know me, I have something up my sleeve to take it to another level.  But that takes time, something I don't have a lot of right now.  But I'm very committed to this project.  I'm hoping this will be the start of something good.

Tony .. I also visited the site! Thought it was easy to manipulate .. liked the idea of looking at balls in groupings (like hvy/med/lgt) .. makes it easier then going from company to company. Nice job .. congratulations and lots of luck .. I'll be visiting it from time to time!

That Zen Cart stuff looks really cool, Tony.  Gotta check that out. So much stuff, so little time...

The ball reaction charts are awesome, too. Keep up the great work!

Zen Cart is nice.  I spent a LOT of time tweaking it.  It's crazy how many teeny tiny things I was not happy with.  No one sees the changes but me, but my goal was to make the site as easy to navigate as possible.  That's not as easy as it sounds.

The Reaction Guides are nice.  They biggest problem is to get an idea for a ball reaction across ALL manufacturers.  I has Brunswick, for example, fit their balls into my chart... using my numbers.  You will also notice the Oil Duration guide... that tells if a ball is better for fressh oil or carry down.  That's something you'll only find on this site.

I have not updated all the balls with those charts yet.  Waiting on some numbers from the last couple ball reps.  But see the Dyno-thane balls for the best representation of what all the ball pages will look like eventually.

Lots of work to do.

On Edit: yes, you can request top weight and pins.  It's on the checkout page in the comments section.  But your comment tells me that I need to say that somewhere on the product page itself though.  Thanks for the idea!

Tony
