The Worst Thing About Every League

the worst thing about league to me is sittin thru work at all day and the only I can think bout is bowling that night. it really does suck. and what sucks more is if ur hot and didnt do so well and u want to redeem urself but you have to wait a whole weeks to do so

Well it sounds like you take league bowling way to seriously. Who cares what you shot in league? It doesn't make you any money, they keep on taking awards away from us so their is no reason to take it that seriously.

If you want to be serious bowl tourneys.

maybe in ur league its doesnt make any money but here you can walk out of bowling alley alley on a given night with anywhere from 1k to 15ks. and i bowl tournaments a lot but leagues are more regular cuz there are on a fixed ratio while you might have a month or so between tournaments

Worst part for me was how it seemed the more I wanted to go bowl that night, the worse I would shoot.  The less I wanted to go, the better I shot.  I think God or the cosmos, or whatever it is out there, gets a kick out of f***ing with me.

Yeah, my highest sanctioned series, (and highest sanctioned game at the time) that also won me the high series for the year award in the house I shot it, was a night I told one of my buddies the last thing in the world I wanted to do was to go bowl.  In fact, I almost no-showed that night - and that is something I never do and actually gripe about other people doing.

i live in Indianapolis and the bowling alley is Hindel Lanes on Friday and Saturday nights.

1-15K on an individual night???  Maybe if you had a huge league where you could enter 50 brackets and win every single one of them...  and that's just to get to around $1000.

I shot my high series last season sick with the flu.  I only showed up because two of our bowlers were out that week on business trips and I didn't want our team to forfeit.

i mean i havent won that money myself i have ever walked away with about 1200 at the most but i just turned adult in the last yr after competing in youth even in college

I've never bowled at Hindel, but Expo used to get some good sized pots, up around $800 or so.  Heck, the 50-50 ticket drawing payout was usually around $100. Maybe he forgot a decimal and meant $1000 - $1500?  I could see that pretty easily for the area if the league was big (Expo was around 30-36 teams) and drew the right players.

not any given night that was wrong but i have hear 6 and 7 thousand dollars walking out there on saturday nights in the winter leagues. but hell at jubilee we are giving away that expo money u speak of every on tuesdays in the summer
