I bowl in a 4 man handicap league on Fridays, and two weeks ago we were swepted. Nobody was speaking to one another. I was blaming myself for having a absolutly horrible night.

Me and a couple of friends decided to blow off some steam by joining a Sunday night fun league(it's only $10.00). Never had so much fun, we were just trying new lines, and releases. Just joking and laughing the whole night.

Shoot forward to the following Friday and applied the same intentions of having fun and giving our all, and we shot a 912(the second highest team game of our league). Tried it again last night, and for two weeks straight have swepted the other team.

Its just the law of averages.  We got swept this week too and we were 22 and 3 going in.  We're probably not in first place anymore.  Plus we missed winning each game by less then 20 pins.

We will just regroup and with our bit lower averages, give just a tad less handicap, and do what we do.....bowl.

Winter is a loooonnng season.  32 to 36 weeks depending on your league.  We're not even half way into it.

Go about your business like an NFL cornerback.  You've got to have a short memory.  Forget about what happened yesterday/last week/last month, get out there and get the job done.

Great point 230-n-up-or-bust.  The big thing with a bad night of even just a bad ball is that if let it get to you it will.  My father always tells people that he bowls one frame at a time.  Take each frame as they come and move on.  THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN TO CHANGE THE PAST.

ONe must always avoid being swepted!  IT is a strange experience that few have had in bowling or in other phases of life.

Get as many bowling pins as you can, take them out to the range, and lay waste to them w/ the firearm of your choice.

Okay, so here's another question. Do you bowl better when you're serious, or just having fun? I find myself bowl a lot better when I'm relax and having a good time just laughing and joking than trying to put on a serious game face and take the game very personally.

I see our opponents seemingly having fun when the game starts, and when they are winning, but do a 180 when things goes sour. I admit that I'm not that good of a bowler, but I don't try to fake it. I truly try to have fun now, win or lose.
