For 16# = I use #16 wish they would allow more #'s. I've always thrown 16#. If your tall, good health, have a few muscles here and there, once you become accustomed to the 16, it would be tough to go lower. I fear I would fire the ball too hard = speedster monster. I've had several balls accidently purchased careless pro shops in the 15.6 to 15.8 = Speed demon for my game.

Personal preference, gaining more speed, aging body, or in the case of some performance balls - it is said to tame them down a bit (=better carry??? I would think very little carry difference between #15 & #16).
I see the other side also. If physical attributes, or injury are an issue. Of course, NOT a he man issue, 16 pounds is the limit = rather light in the bigger scheme of things.
Whatever feels comfortable and performs well.
