On a house shot, chances are, there are several ways to get to the pocket, even in the third game. What you are looking for is the one that gets there the most consistant, with the largest margin of error, and with the best carry percentage. A normal house shot will allow sevearal types of players several ways to the pocket. If in your league, or at least against the team you bowled that night, chances are where you moved "deep" was still virtually fresh. If the league is comprised of straighter players, going with a weaker ball in their track may still be a bit iffy, and have continous transition. I always like to play where no one else is on the pair, so I can stay in one place longer.
