Title: This is Unbelievable
Post by: Iketown300 on June 27, 2004, 06:17:07 AM
I was bowling at practice the other day and i was standing around 25-30 rolling around 15 at the arrows and i hit the hole dead flush and I left the 7-8.  I am right handed. Can anyone explain that?  I have heard of bad racks but that is unheard of.

Your ball rolled out at the pocket and deflected through the rack(ball went right of the 5 pin, 5 pin slid into the 4 or between the 7-8).  There's no way you'd leave that going dead flush.

I know it was a solid hit.  The sound was that of my previous shots that cleared the rack.  Others were watching as well and were amazed.

Okay.........If there is no such thing as the solid 7-8, how many people out there have seen, or left the solid 9-10 (right hander).......I am one who has.

I've seen the 7-8 NEARLY left over a dozen times.  Did it happen on synthetics perchance?  New pins and a bad pinsetter could explain it.

No, really, I like you.  Now, by all means, feel free to go fornicate yourself with a sharp object.

I've seen a righty leave a 7-8 in the pocket a couple of times in the house I sub in- but as others have described I saw the ball roll out by the pin deck and watched the 5 pin fall in between the 7 and 8 pins...

It happened in a wood lanes with old pins and old pinspotters.  How can you tell when the ball rolls out at the pin deck? i.e. what are some indications?

I can guarantee that leaving a 7-8 is not impossible.  Saw one last Tuesday in my sport shot league.  Righthander, maybe slightly high flush, looked sort of like the kind of hit you might leave a fast 8 with (4-7).

That's why it's UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Could have been a Stone 8 with some bad luck who knows.  I left a smash 4-9 and something came off the wall and set the 9 pin back up.  One of the pins like the 7 may have not even been the 7 when it started.  May have been bad wood?   This is bowling!  It happens,  if you haven't seen it yet just wait a few minutes!
