This should be a simple question...

But for some reason it isn't clicking in my brain.  After looking at different used balls, I've come to realize the $$$ is saved if you can find one with a similar span.  Now, granted, it is a little bit rarer to find LH balls (wrongsider and I love it!), but I'm wondering what is the simplest way to measure my span?  Do I measure my hand from thumb to fingers, or just look at my bowling ball and measure than from thumb to fingers.  (I know I'm not taking pitch into account, let me get to that in due time).

The only problem with using "off the rack" used balls is that they may work as drilled, but when you switch between balls, the span never matches and THAT creates problems in consistency.

Or maybe I'm just a bitter bowler with a 6 1/4" span.  Try and find that at a yard sale.
