I think the wife needs a new ball.
I know, I know... For the millionth time... Sorry.
So, I'm really looking to improve her carry. She's an athletic five foot nothing. Currently throwing a V2 and a Scout Reactive; both #12. She's had problems with carpal tunnel in the past, but wears a Robby's. 3 step approach - won't even discuss additional step(s). Rev challenged (tops the ball). She's getting better at coming around the ball to spin for extra length, but can't really stay under the ball. Won't "practice", just open play for score. But, in spite of all of that, she's relatively competitive. Carrying about a 150 average. She just started working out serious and is getting stronger. I'm thinking that if she can handle #13, it would increase her carry significantly.
She's pretty straight down 3rd arrow, sometimes down 2nd, and leaves a LOT of 5 pins. I understand that with the stronger coverstocks these days that many companies are making balls with "real" cores at lower weights. Do you think we can find a decent forgiving control ball in #13 or maybe even #12? I think she getting the strength to handle #13, but would probably control a #12 better.
I'm open any and all suggestions. Thanks for your help.
