Throw ball Ugh
« on: June 28, 2003, 11:32:54 PM »
I have gotten sick of my limited rev count. I've always been a fairly straight player due to having more speed than revs. When I have my shot I'm tough, but when the pattern calls for a more inside line on slicker lanes I have always struggled mightily. I bought a 12# power groove and have been throwing it with no thumb. I couldn't give you a rev count but lets just say very high rev rate with a high track and around 15/16 mph on Quibica. This ball hooks so much I have given up on targeting at the arrows and instead target a dark board at around 40 feet. I basically stand way left and throw way right with massive revs. I'm not carrying light like you would with a heavier ball, but anywhere half pocket to heavy pocket is a strike. Also very few splits show up due to deflection and the occasional brooklyn always seems to carry. This is fun!!! What was I thinking all these years trying for precision. Chucking the ball is a lot more fun!!! I don't know if I'll really convert, but since there is no money at stake in my summer league I think I'll at least stick with it for a month or so.

Make sure to kiss your biceps after thunderstrikes and learn the gorilla dance.
