Throwing well, bowling not so well.
« on: March 09, 2007, 12:07:24 AM »
Lately I've been throwing the ball pretty well.  I've been hitting my mark and getting good release, timing, etc. very consistently.  For the most part I've also been scoring well, except for last night.

The lanes transitioned extremely quickly last night, and I didn't adapt nearly as quickly as I should have.  My Sonic Boom got squirrely on me, and I had very little margin of error.  I spent half of the night trying to find something that would give me a consistent look to the pocket.  In retrospect, I probably should have thrown my RSP and found a deeper line with some more consistent oil.

I feel that I've gotten to a decent level as far as my ability to repeat shots, even though I wasn't up to snuff last night.  I'm not bad at reading lanes, but there are some nights that I just can't find anything that works.  I think my ability to adapt to transitioning lanes holds me back more than anything else.  Anyone else feel the same way?

Reading the lanes is s difficult task, as well a sdrawing the right conclusions and making change decisions. Sometimes it works very well, and you stay ahead of the rest and keep scoring, at other times you seem to run into a labyrinth of oil patterns, lines, releases and balls, that will not lead to ANY results. That's bowling

Just for thought: at other times, it is just the player who is confused or has a physical problem - I have this problem because I am allergic to some foods, and I can run into a "shock" situation which will cause my muscles to go stiff, with a huge time delay after eating something wrong. I had league starts on Sundays where I would not score better than a 150 average, only to find out that there had been something wrong in that instant sauce the day before I had with my vegetables...
