THS at Sunnybrook lanes
« on: September 15, 2004, 11:23:57 AM »
To start off, the scores in my JUNIOR scratch league at Sunnybrook bowl in michigan are getting a little rediculous. We have 11 kids in my scratch league, and the total average between us is in the 2 teens. there are 3 kids averaging in the 240's after 3 weeks. i am averaging 234, which there is no way i should be able to average this at 15.

The shot they are putting out is rediculously easy, especially so since its a scratch league. Nobody wants to bowl scratch, so thats the reason for the low output of kids. On my saturday league at sunnybrook, scores are similar, although not as high since theres about 100 people bowling in the various divisions. I am only averaging 215 in this league. This is getting rediculous though. they have the ability to put down sport shots, as they do during mjma's, but they don't. If there not gonna put down a sport shot, at least put down something a little more difficult, i mean cant they be a little creative and come up with something a little more difficult?

They PROBABLY could, but how many OTHERS would COMPLAIN that the shot was too DIFFICULT?

theres only 11 people in the league though thats the thing... and all of us want a tougher shot since 5 people are averaging over 230. i don't understand why they put out this pathetic of a shot though, i mean i don't want to kill everyone, but i'd like to at least not be dissapointed when i dont shoot a 700.

Stan,
You did not say what day you bowl the scratch league.I suspect the shot your on is being put down for the league following you which likes this type of shot.I doubt the house will alter the shot for 11 bowlers. My suggestion would be to move your league to Thursday. The mens league on Thurs nite stipulates that a variety of tougher conditions be put down at specific times throughout the year. This would be a chance for you to experience sport/tournament/pro conditions and still have fun on the THS put down on Sat.The conditions on Thurs are specific as outlined in the league's bylaws so you would know the exact conditions you were bowling on.If you guys bowled one to a lane you could argue you would not be dramaticly changing the shot for the later league.

My daughter bowls at Sunnybrook Saturday mornings and after two weeks is about 20 pins higher than last year at Bowl One.

Mommy Brag:  She had her first 200 game ever last Saturday, a clean 225
