What you will probably see is that the shot is completely different. It will play a LOT flatter, depending on the depth of the cut, until a track is worn in the new surface finish - usually takes 2-3 weeks.
The house I spend a lot of time in resurfaced this last year - as usual. This year, the resurfacing crew ran out of the normal Brunswick finish - so they used AMF instead. We're seeing totally different play, different wear patterns, etc. The AMF finish is softer than the Brunswick, from what I understand, and it's taken a while to get the machine adjusted to compensate.
