That's exactly my method... Have not seen anyone else use it before...Except for the people I've shown...
Good post - good technique

Good post.
I like to fold my tape before I pull off the backing, but to each his own.

I've been doing it this way for years and years.

never thought about that that's a good idea but wouldn't work very well if you had them stacked but just adding 1 it would work great

I can see this working if you put in one piece of tape and never need to touch it the rest of the time, but I put tape in and out, as my thumb is shrunken in the cold weather and swells as I bowl and warm up.
It also doesn't work if you're layering tape and need to put one piece just barely below the next piece. The paper backing blocks your vision of where the previous layer ends. PLUS you can't use the paper to remove the tape; you need another device.
I use a 1/8" wide flat bladed screwdriver about 4" long to both install and remove tape and install and remove shims from the back of finger inserts. It much easier to use for all these purposes and much easier to see when layering the tape.

I used to do this method years ago, but stopped for the very reason Charlest stated. I taper 3 pieces of tape and remove as needed. Using the backing of the white tape makes it harder to layer the tapes 1/8" from each other. Especially between frames or shots, it's much quicker when using a 1/8 flat head.
