Ball names
« on: January 13, 2010, 06:10:43 PM »
Did you ever wonder how or why a ball has that specific name? What makes a Hy-Road a Hy-Road, a Cell a Cell, or a Black Widow a Black Widow? Any ball really.
Who comes up with these names? A specific person or the company, poll the audience type of deal?

Its one of those things that make you go "hmmmm"

Yeah I have to wonder sometimes why someone would name a ball what it is.  Pretty soon people are going to have to run out of ideas(or it would be better that they didn't get any ideas) and they will have to go to a naming system like Track and Motiv.

Hy-road was/is part of the T-Road lineup.... Which was a spin off the Thunder Road lineup.  The Hy-Road has a Hybrid coverstock & is a play on the saying, "take the high road".....  That's my opinion any way.  It's all about marketing & what they feel "sells".

I always thought they might have a matching pair called "The ONE" and "ONLY".

Wouldn't it be funny if there was a "drugs line"

Dry - The "Speed" or The Cocaine

Medium - The "X" (get it?) - Tacy

Heavy - The Meth (for the "heavy" stuff).

NO, I do not partake in THE ABOVE MENTIONED ones, but it's the IDEA here
