Question for league secretaries
« on: May 02, 2009, 02:52:50 PM »
We started our summer scratch league last week and I'm the secretary.  We bowl two two-game matches per week.  We use a 28-week schedule for a 14-week season.

Perfect Secretary treats this league as bowling two sessions in one week.  When I enter scores, the first match is for week 1, the second match is for week 2.  The next week, we bowl "week 3" and "week 4".

Since we only bowl two-game matches, I don't know how to make PS detect things like 700-series or 800-series.  As far as I know, if you bowl four games in one night, you can still get awards for three-game sets, even if you bowl on different pairs with different opponents.  Does anyone know how to make PS figure that stuff out?

No, you cannot still earn a 3 game set...

Anytime the field changes, a new set is started...

So basically you are bowling two, two game blocks in one day..  Each new block starts over from 0..

Unless I am misinterpreting the rule..  It may be like that only when people are cut (ie: match play or from field to top 25%, etc....)

You can earn USBC series awards based on the first 3 games of the set.  This is the same in USBC sanctioned tournaments where the are blocks of more than 3 games.

mmcfarland300,

This is true even if the field changes?  IE, lanes, etc.?  That doesn't make a whole lot of sense.  Why can't I get 11 strike patches when I throw 6 out and 5 to begin?  That would use the same concept.
