Title: Thumb pillow
Post by: asc360s on September 06, 2004, 07:27:41 AM
Is there a product out there called a thumb pillow or something like that that adjusts to your thumb.  I could have sworn I have seen it before but I can't anymore

There's something called shur cushion, but I'm not too sure if it adjusts to your thumb.  You stick it into your thumb hole and it has a sponge like material with a  plastic covering that touches your thumb (the plastic covering feels like the surface of black tape).  Hope that helps.

Yeah, there was.  I remember trying it years ago but it did not last long for me.  Once your nail catches it, goodbye.  I much prefer using the Magic Carpets.

Its official name is "Chuck Hacker's Interchangeable Thumbillow".  I know this because I'm reading it off the instruction sheet that came with the package.

I can't tell you how well it works, because after reading the instructions, I decided that velcro strips, supplemented with white tape on the other side, would do a better job with less effort.

If I decide to give it a try, I'll let you know how well it works.

I used the Thumbillow for a while.  It does prevent squeezing and helps add conistency to your release.

The downside was I had a very difficult time getting each ball the same.  Once you put the product in, it doesn't come out unless you tear it out.

Actually the new version has a velcro stip you put in the ball.  The pad then adheres to the velcro.  You can change them out with ease that way.

Did not know that.  I haven't used them since High School, which was 7 years ago.
