Title: Thumb pitch ?

What are the effects of Left Pitch  Vs Right Pitch.

There is no "effect"...you are fit for lateral pitches to make your fingers fit in the ball according to your joints.  The effect of incorrect pitches would be blistering and callouses....the effect of correct pitches is being able to clear the ball w/o pain.

Ok, since we are on the subject of left and right pitches, I have been thinking about this for quite some time.  What would happen if you went to the extreme on your pitch and I am talking extreme here.  What if your pitch was say at a 45 degree angle in the ball with the thumb tip pointing to the right?  Would this help you exit the ball faster with more revs?

0 pitch lateral works for a majority of bowlers.  Sometimes a bowler will have no flexibility in the thumb.  At that point I use left lateral to help them clear the ball.  Many bowlers have right pitch and end up with blisters.  This is caused due to the thumb not being able to bend to the pitch.  Years ago many drillers never looked at the thumb for pitches.  Everything was 1/8 reverse and 1/8 right lateral.  We still see a lot of that and 0 pitched fingers.  We fix a lot of people that come to us with hamburger meat hands from other places.

rabbit what you are referring to would work...to some extent.

Yes you would most likely clear the ball faster, and with a slightly higher revrate.  You would sacrifice axis tilt and side roll.  This would eliminate the benefit of a higher revrate.....

You would knock the crap out of it...but it wouldn't hook

Ok thanks Iv just recently changed to 1/8 Right 1/8 reverse pitch and no grips and i like the results i see. Keep in mind before i used 1/8 left 1/4 reverse.
